You must possess a valid full driving license suitable for the vehicle category, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. 3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Barking location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by you. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may incur additional fees, so please contact us as soon as you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every car rental. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial exposure. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless covered by extra insurance. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls solely under your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and modification policies differ based on your booking type and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.

Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Prohibited activities include any illegal use of the vehicle, such as racing or off-roading, and transporting hazardous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger limits, or using the vehicle for purposes it was not intended for is strictly forbidden. Additionally, operating the vehicle outside of agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Non-compliance may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Barking accepts no responsibility for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or business data, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the rental fee paid in the last year. This limitation does not affect our liability for negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or instances of fraud.
